Callum McGregor's late goal secured Celtic's 3-0 triumph over Rangers in the Old Firm Derby at Celtic Park on Sunday. Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi had already given the Bhoys a commanding lead in the first half, with Rangers unable to respond effectively.
Rangers' best opportunity came within the first 10 minutes when James Tavernier found Rabbi Matondo, who missed his header from close range. Just a minute later, Kyogo thought he had scored, but his goal was disallowed due to Nicolas Kuhn being offside before assisting him.

Maeda's goal in the 17th minute counted, thanks to Alistair Johnson's assist from behind Rangers' defence. Kyogo then added another just before halftime, driving a low shot through a crowded area from 30 yards out.
Celtic have maintained their perfect start to the season, not conceding any goals in their four matches so far. Kasper Schmeichel made three crucial saves, including one against Tavernier, to keep his clean sheet intact.
McGregor sealed the win in the 75th minute with a long-range strike that deflected past Butland. This marked McGregor's third consecutive game with a goal.
The defeat added to Rangers' manager Philippe Clement's woes, as he has now failed to win an Old Firm Derby in five attempts across all competitions (one draw and four losses). Only Graeme Murty and William Wilton have also failed to win any of their first five games against Celtic while managing Rangers.
Rangers have struggled at Celtic Park recently, losing all five of their away games there since the start of the 2022-23 season. The last time they experienced such a streak was in April 1980.
This victory keeps Celtic at the top of their game and extends their unbeaten run. Meanwhile, Rangers will need to regroup and find ways to overcome their challenges in future derbies.
