Celtic Maintain Perfect Start In Scottish Premiership With 2-0 Victory Over Aberdeen

Benjamin Nygren netted his debut goal for Celtic, and Reo Hatate added a spectacular second, securing a 2-0 victory over Aberdeen. This win helped Celtic maintain their flawless start to the Scottish Premiership season. After Rangers drew 1-1 for the second consecutive time on Saturday, Brendan Rodgers' team moved four points ahead of them on Sunday.

Aberdeen's Adil Aouchiche tested Kasper Schmeichel with a long-range effort early in the match. However, Celtic soon took control, with Nygren scoring in the 27th minute. Kieran Tierney outpaced Nicolas Milanovic to deliver a low cross from the left byline, which Nygren converted past Dimitar Mitov while falling backwards.

Nygren had another chance but shot over after Mitov saved Hatate's attempt. The Dons' goalkeeper also denied Daizen Maeda early in the second half. Despite these efforts, Mitov couldn't stop Hatate from scoring a stunning goal from outside the box in the 66th minute, assisted by Nygren.

Celtic comfortably managed the game against an Aberdeen side struggling at the bottom of the table with two losses and no goals scored. This result marked Aberdeen's worst start to a Premiership season in 21 years, having lost their first two matches for the first time since 2003-04.

In their previous encounters this season, Aberdeen suffered another 2-0 defeat against Hearts last week. Their initial loss was also against Hearts, followed by a defeat to defending champions Rangers. Meanwhile, Celtic have consistently won their opening away games in each of the last three Premiership seasons.

Under Brendan Rodgers' management, Celtic have secured victories in four out of five such matches, experiencing only one loss. This consistent performance highlights their strong start to this campaign as they aim to maintain their lead in the league standings.
