CFA to organise 'Football Awareness Run' on October 14

Chennai, Oct 11 (UNI) Chennai Football Association (CFA) would organise a 'Football Awareness Run' here on October 14.

Talking to newspersons last night, CFA President C R Visswanathan said the Association was conducting the run for the first time, which was aimed to create more awareness among the public about the game.

''Chennai Mayor M Subramanian would inaugurate the run'', he said.

Mr Visswanathan said about 4,000 persons were expected to participate in the event. ''Apart from this, we will organise the junior state championship for the T P Ramasamy Pillai Cup here from October 19 to 24'', he added.

The matches would be held at the DBYC (Basin Bridge) and the SDAT Nehru park grounds.

The semifinal and the final would be held at the DBYC ground.

In all, 25 district units were taking part in the championship.
