Substitute Avishek Kunjam wins man of the match as the player made a difference after coming in as left winger in the match. He scored the all important fourth goal for East Bengal in the 74th minute after Dip Saha put them back in the lead in the 70th minute. Bunando Singh and Aman CK deserve some credit as well for using their pace to worry WBPS defense line.

The match saw as many as three penalties with East Bengal winning and scoring two of them. Overall, it was an encouraging display by East Bengal youngsters with the likes of Kush Chhetry, Bunando Singh, Avishek Kunjam, Lijo K among others impressing.

Sarthak Golui duly doubled the lead from the spot following a slice of luck while Subrata Biswas pulled one back from WB Police from the spot as well in the 33rd minute!

East Bengal are up against West Bengal Police FC in their second Calcutta Football League match on Monday (July 17). The important clash between the two sides will be taking place at the Naihati Bankimanjali Stadium and the match starts from 3:30 PM IST on Monday.
The Red and Gold Brigade has made a stuttering start to their CFL campaign as they were haplessly held by the Rainbow AC in their last match. With both Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Mohammedan Sporting registering huge wins in their respective matches, the onus will be on East Bengal players to get back to winning ways.
East Bengal have included many ISL-experienced players in their squad but it was not enough against Rainbow AC to get all three points. The Kolkata giants will have to ensure a better outing and most importantly a victory to stay afloat in the race even in this early stage of the CFL 2023 season.
