Holders Manchester City will begin their title defence from September, but before that they will be eager to know their path in this year's top European club competition, starting with the groups at the UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Group Stage draw.
Apart from holders Man City, the UCL group stage will feature 31 other teams that will be divided into 8 groups of 4 with the top two progressing to the knock out rounds and the third placed side moving to knock outs of the second tier in Europe - the Europa League.

26 teams had confirmed their sports earlier, while six others joined them in time for the draw via the UCL play-offs, which concluded a day ahead of the draw, finalizing the pots.
The 2022/23 UEFA Men's Player of the Year, UEFA Women's Player of the Year, UEFA Men's Coach of the Year and UEFA Women's Coach of the Year awards will also be presented during the group stage draw ceremony.

The Champions League group stage draw will take place on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. The draw ceremony is scheduled to start at 6 PM CEST | 4 PM GMT | 5 PM BST | 9:30 PM IST.
The live streaming will be available on UEFA Champions League Website and YouTube Channel. Additionally, in India the draw will be shown live on Sony Sports TEN 1 SD and Sony Sports TEN 1 HD channels from 9:30 PM IST with the live streaming available on Sony LIV.
• The 32 teams will be split into four seeding pots.
♦ Pot 1 - Consists of the holders, the Europa League winners and the champions of the six highest-ranked nations who did not qualify via one of the 2021/22 titles;
♦ Pots 2 to 4 will be determined by the club coefficient rankings.
• In the case of associations with two representatives, clubs will be paired in order to split their matches between Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
• In the case of associations with four representatives, two pairings will be made. These pairings are to be based on TV audiences.
No team can play a side from their own association. Any other restrictions will be announced ahead of the draw.

16 teams - the group winners and runners up will progress to the knock out stages, starting with the round of 16 for which the draw will take place on December 18, 2023, while the next stages - quarterfinal and semifinal draw will take place on March 15, 2024 after the round of 16 ties.

The 2023/24 UCL season will conclude with the title clash at London's Wembley Stadium, which hosts an UCL final for third time in the UEFA Champions League era following the 2011 and 2013 finals.
