The first-ever draw for the new format of the UEFA Champions League (UCL), which will debut the league phase, replacing the group stage, will be held later this month, featuring 36 teams from across Europe.
The league phase draw for the 2024-25 UCL will be held at the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco, on Friday 29 August 2024, a day after the second leg ties of the play-off round, which will see seven teams join the 29 teams that have already confirmed their spots.

The champions from 11 leagues from across Europe, including the top five - Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1, have all qualified for the league phase of UCL 2024/25 along with several others from the top three or four teams from their respective leagues.
Two leagues - Italy (Serie A) and Germany (Bundesliga) - have been rewarded with an extra place in next season's Champions League based on performance in Europe last season.The Europa League winners also have qualified for this season's UCL. The final seven teams for the league phase draw will be determined after the two legged playoff round matches on August 20-21 and August 27-28. The draw will see the 36 teams divided into four post based on their UEFA co-efficient ranking. Here is a look at the pots:
