Chelsea Secures Guro Reiten's Future With Contract Extension To 2026

Chelsea has triggered an extension for Guro Reiten's contract until 2026. The Norwegian forward has been instrumental in the team's success, scoring six goals this season.

Chelsea have exercised the option to extend Guro Reiten's contract, securing her stay at the club until 2026. Since joining Chelsea in May 2019 from LSK Kvinner in Norway, Reiten has made 177 appearances and scored 52 goals across all competitions. Her contributions have been instrumental in Chelsea's success over the years.

Reiten has been a key player for Chelsea, helping the team secure five Women's Super League titles, three FA Cups, and two Conti Cups. Her exceptional performances earned her a place in the PFA Team of the Year for both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. Additionally, she received a Ballon d'Or nomination in 2023.

Chelsea Extends Guro Reiten's Contract

This season, Reiten is Chelsea's top scorer in the Women's Super League (WSL) with six goals. Only Khadija Shaw of Manchester City has scored more in the league with nine goals. Despite not registering an assist yet, Reiten has created 24 chances, second only to Lauren Hemp's 26 across the league.

Reiten has also been active in delivering crosses, with 55 so far this season, placing her just behind Katie McCabe. Her efforts have contributed significantly to Chelsea's current position at the top of the WSL standings after ten games.

Chelsea lead the WSL by six points ahead of second-place Manchester City. The team is preparing to face Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday. This match will be crucial as they aim to maintain their momentum and continue their successful run this season.

Guro Reiten's extension reflects Chelsea's commitment to retaining top talent and building on their achievements. Her presence on the field continues to be a vital asset for the team as they pursue further victories and titles.
