The Blues fans jeered their £50million striker after being substituted for Demba Ba in the 80th minute. The Spaniard's poor performance turned into fans frustration for the first time in nearly two years.
On his 100th appearance for Chelsea, fans were furious with their No. 9 but cheered on when the fourth official held up his No. 29 in green on the board. Will it be the end of Torres' career at the Bridge?
Blues interim manager Rafa Benitez was brought in to get the best out of the former Anfield hero, but the former Liverpool boss perhaps had too much faith in him. And on his 100th appearance for the club, fans finally vented their frustration over both Torres and Benitez.
Torres, 28, couldn't make any impact for 80 minutes but Ba, on for the last 10 minutes, created more chances than the Spaniard.
Making his home debut, Ba created problems for the Swansea back-line, disallowed a goal for being marginally offside and came close to scoring twice.
Torres was never a fan favourite but the Stamford Bridge faithful have already likened the impact Ba has made in the 100 minutes on the pitch.
Although Branislav Ivanovic handed two goals for the visitors due to his slack defending, Chelsea really lacked firepower upfront. Despite creating numerous chances and dominating the opening half, all they wanted was finishing. Swansea had created very little chances, but goal-scorer Michu netted twice when he got the opportunity.
Fans began calling out Ba's name during the break which would certainly lower Torres' morale.
However, in Ba, Chelsea now have someone who is hungry for goals, be in the right position and also create chances.
Benitez has to decide whether to give Ba his first Premier League outing in a blue shirt and drop Torres, or play both alongside each other as they make a tough trip to Stoke on Saturday.
