Chelsea FC ready to spend more than £100 million to sign Lionel Messi

London, July 7: The biggest transfer news which is circulating in the media is Chelsea FC's interest in signing FC Barcelona and Argentine superstar Lionel Messi this summer.

According to reports from the Sun, Jorge Messi, Lionel's father had a meeting with Chelsea owner and Russian business tycoon Roman Abramovich yesterday (July 6).

Lionel Messi has recently recieved a jail sentence of 21 months for a tax fraud case and a fine of €2 million. Although Messi is unlikely to serve the jail sentence, the star player feels that his club Barcelona has not been supportive in this entire controversy.

This has apparently made him consider his future with the Spanish giants. In such situation, it is being said that the English Premier League giants are ready to enchash.

The Blues are ready to make a £100 million offer to FC Barcelona to get Lionel Messi this summer.

Such rumours sound utterly ridiculous given the fact that Messi over the years has been a loyal servant to the club and he himself has claimed several times that he would end his career at the Catalan club. But in the current situation, it can be a possibility that Chelsea might go ahead with this deal.

Chelsea FC have roped in Italian manager Antonio Conte for the coming season. After a disastrous last season, the 5 times English champions are looking forward to revamp their entire squad.

They have already signed Belgian international striker Michy Batshuayi from Olympique Marseille. They are also in race to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid to strengthen their striker force.

Chelsea's star player Eden Hazard has been linked with a move out of the club as Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are in contention to sign the Belgian star.

In case, the Hazard move out this summer, which is unlikely to happen, the club might actually break their bank to get hold of the world's best player Lionel Messi.
