Sonia Bompastor emphasises that Chelsea is prioritising every match in the latter half of the season as she seeks her first trophy. Since succeeding Emma Hayes, Bompastor has smoothly led Chelsea to the top of the Women's Super League, maintaining a six-point lead over Manchester City. The team is actively competing in four tournaments, including the League Cup and Champions League quarter-finals.
In their latest Women's Super League match, Chelsea drew 1-1 with Leicester City, marking Bompastor's only non-victory since taking charge. Despite this, she expects more from her players and encourages them to keep striving for success. "Every game is a priority because every game can help bring a trophy for the club," she stated during a press conference.

Bompastor appreciates having a robust squad that allows player rotation across all competitions while remaining competitive. As they enter the second half of the season, with additional cup competitions on the horizon, she stresses the importance of readiness and potential transfer window opportunities. "That's the most important thing," she noted.
Chelsea's FA Cup journey begins in the fourth round against Charlton Athletic on Sunday. The team had previously won the FA Cup three times consecutively from 2020-21 to 2022-23 but was eliminated in last season's semi-finals by Manchester United, who went on to win.
Bompastor expressed her enthusiasm for her first FA Cup game: "[I'm] really excited [for her first FA Cup game]. I've heard a lot of good and positive things about the FA Cup in England." She emphasised staying focused on their strengths and executing their game model effectively.
The coach highlighted that winning trophies is central to this part of the season. "It's a trophy to win and this second part of the season is about that," she said. Chelsea approaches each match with determination, aiming to integrate all necessary elements to secure victories and titles.
