Bengaluru, March 10: Premier League champions Chelsea are reportedly in pole position to sign Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski in the summer, after the Poland superstar signed up with super agent Pini Zahavi. The Bayern forward signed a five-year deal with the Bundesliga giants after he left Borussia Dortmund in 2014. He still has three years to go at the Allianz Area after penning an extension. However, it has been reported that the Polish international is eager for a new experience in another league and his priority is the Premier League, even though Real Madrid are interested in him.

Bayern would be reluctant to sell Lewandowski, who has netted 139 goals for the club, but the change of agent hints that he fancies a move to England.

Super agent Zahavi has counted the likes of Rio Ferdinand as his clients, but he has had most success as a middle man, helping broker deals for Jaap Stam to Lazio and the purchase of Juan Sebastian Veron to Manchester United.

He also helped Roman Abramovich purchase Chelsea in 2003 and the 74-year-old clearly still has the business acumen to land big names and reports claim that he is looking to broker a move for Lewandowski to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea signed Alvaro Morata last summer and added Olivier Giroud in January but they have still failed to replace Diego Costa's goalscoring prowess.

Giroud has bagged one FA Cup goal for the Blues, while Morata has bagged 16 goals in his maiden Premier League season, but is yet to find the net in 2018.

Manchester United are also interested in Lewandowski, but they signed Romelu Lukaku last summer for £75million that could rise to £90m.

Although they have Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a back-up for the Belgian, the Swede's form has been shaky after last season's knee injury.

Even if the Swede leaves in the summer, Lewandowski's move to Old Trafford remains unlikely as there are little chances of Lukaku being content with a backup role.
