Chelsea have embarked on an unprecedented spending spree since the takeover of Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital that has seen them spending over £550 million in two transfer windows.
While Todd Boehly may have improved the Blues’ squad, there are several squad players who seem to be unwanted at the moment. The team as of now looks bloated and a mass exodus is expected to occur in the summer which started with Jorginho joining Arsenal this January. In each section, there are likely to be departures in summer.
Kepa Arrizabalaga appears to be Potter's preferred goalkeeper at the moment and that could leave Mendy out of the equation. If the situation does not change, The AFCON and Champions League winner is likely to depart the club.
Cesar Azpilicueta's time at Stamford Bridge could also come to an end in the summer with the Blues unlikely to extend his current contract. The 33-year-old extended his stay at Chelsea by one year this season, however, he now seems to be only a sporadic presence in the team and hence expected to be let go.
Koulibaly’s stock has also drastically fallen since his move from Napoli last summer. He has lost his first team place in the line-up with new January signing Benoit Badiashile commanding the backline. If there's any generous offer he too could be sold.
Kante also seems almost certain to leave the club for free in the summer. He has been facing recurring injury issues lately. The Blues secured Enzo Fernandez on a record deal in January and he seems to be the replacement for the Chelsea legend. With Kante's injury problems ascending, it’s hard to see his contract getting renewed.
Hakim Ziyech is also sure to leave in the summer after his move to PSG failed on the deadline day. The former Ajax attacker has failed to nail down a regular spot and Chelsea are willing to cash in on him till his stocks are high.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher, Christian Pulisic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are also favored to leave the club in the summer after failing to be a regular. While Aubameyang could be let go for a free deal, the other could be sold for a decent amount.
Romelu Lukaku and Callum Hudson-Odoi are also not expected to feature again for the club when they return from their respective loans. Overall there could be more than ten departures in the summer with Chelsea looking for a fresh era under the new regime.
