London, November 29: Premier League holders Chelsea have reportedly been told they can sign Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January.
The Gabon international has had a season plagued with controversy and was most recently sent off as the German giants let a 4-0 lead slip against Schalke.
The German media claim that the relationship between the player and the club has become bitter now and the breakdown could lead to the Bundesliga giants sell the star forward in January.
Chelsea are said to be among a number of clubs who have been informed that he will be on the market in the winter window. And despite his issues with Dortmund, the Blues know that he is a very special player and will be looking to enter the negotiations.
Aubameyang has been sensation in front of goal this season netting 17 goals in 19 games this season and Antonio Conte knows what the Gabonese can offer to his team.
Alvaro Morata has netted nine times for the Blues since joining in the summer but the rest of the squad have failed to give him much support.
Aubameyang's problems at the Bundesliga club started earlier this season when he was suspended for disciplinary reasons and now things have become much more bitter.
His Dortmund team-mates are reportedly angry with his time-keeping and taking part in an unauthorised video shoot.
And Dortmund now look like they may cash in on him after he was dismissed against Schalke, who then went on to score four times to steal a point.
The arrival of Aubameyang could mean the departure of Michy Batshuayi who has not played too many minutes this season but it will not be easy for Chelsea to get their man so easily as a host of clubs in Europe will surely look forward to signing Aubameyang if he is available.
