Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory over Servette in their Europa Conference League play-off tie, thanks to second-half goals from Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke. This win helped the Blues bounce back from their recent Premier League defeat to Manchester City, taking control of the qualifying round at Stamford Bridge.
In the first half, Chelsea had a slow start with Gael Ondoua creating an early chance for Servette. Filip Jorgensen managed to save the shot from a tight angle, keeping the score level. After the break, Chelsea increased their tempo significantly.

Nkunku broke through Servette's defence and was fouled by Jeremy Frick, earning a penalty. He confidently converted it, giving Chelsea the lead. Shortly after, Marc Guiu had an opportunity to extend the lead but failed to capitalise as Frick recovered quickly to block his attempts.
Madueke ensured Chelsea's victory with 14 minutes remaining. He received a precise through ball from Enzo Fernandez and fired his shot past Frick into the net. This goal solidified Chelsea's advantage in the match.
Despite their offensive success, Chelsea showed vulnerabilities at the back. They allowed Servette 22 shots, highlighting areas that need improvement. However, Enzo Maresca can take solace in maintaining a clean sheet during this crucial match.
Jeremy Guillermenot nearly reduced Servette's deficit in stoppage time but missed a close-range volley. Jorgensen then made another critical save with the game's final touch, preserving Chelsea's two-goal lead.
Chelsea demonstrated better cohesion in attack compared to their previous league game. They managed seven shots on target out of 14 attempts and generated 1.87 expected goals. Additionally, they made 56 entries into the final third, showing significant improvement in their offensive play.
The Blues' next challenge will be to maintain this momentum while addressing defensive lapses as they continue their campaign in both domestic and European competitions.
