Chelsea to sell Michy Batshuayi in January to sign a new strike partner for Alvaro Morata

London, Dec 11: Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is willing to allow forward Michy Batshuayi to be loaned out when next month’s window opens and target a replacement, according to reports.

The £33 million Summer signing from Ligue 1 side Marseille last year, the Belgian international scored the only goal of the season last year against West Brom which secured their Premier League title, however, had never able to make a regular starting spot under Conte and had to settle behind Diego Costa then.

This season the 24-year-old has been given more playing time than last season, however, the form of new signing Alvaro Morata has again limited him from holding down a starting spot.

Batshuayi has been regularly called into the Belgium side by Roberto Martinez however with World Cup on the horizon a lack game time could cost him his place in the 23-man squad.

The striker reportedly now also has hinted to his close ones that he wants a move from the London side to be in contention for a spot in next year's World Cup and manager Conte agreeing the fact has given him the permission to search for a new club in January temporarily.

The Belgian striker was a subject of interest of West Ham United in this summer's window and it is beloved that the London could again come calling for him in the Winter transfer window whereas his former club Marseille are also believed to be interested in signing the player for the rest of the season on loan. however, no concrete offer for the player has been reported yet.

Manager Conte reportedly will target a replacement signing so he is not left short of options in attack, should the striker leave however no solid names have emerged as of yet.

Batshuayi recently made his return as a late substitute earlier this week in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League after being sidelined since the end of October due to a foot injury. He has appeared 13 times this season in all competitions mostly as subs but has scored seven goals in the meantime.
