Bengaluru, August 10: Premier League champions Chelsea express interest in Valencia full back Joao Cancelo as Antonio Conte looks to add options at the wing-back positions.

The 23-year-old was expected to join Juventus after Tottenham cooled their interest in the weekend, but now Chelsea have enquired about his situation as they search for a new wing back.

The Blues remain in contact with Paris Saint-Germain over Serge Aurier, but his move could hinge on his pending court case.

The Blues have also submitted a £25 million bid for Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has just a year left on his contract.

The versatile Englishman has excelled in a wing back role recently at Arsenal and could fit into Antonio Conte's preferred 3-4-3 formation.

Valencia need to sell to fund for new recruitments for their squad rebuilding and have also looked to offload central defenders Ezequiel Garay and Aymen Abdennour this summer. Selling Cancelo could help them get some cash to revamp the team.

Cancelo has been a priority for Juventus, who are looking to replace Dani Alves, who left for Paris Saint-Germain, and the Serie A champions are prepared to pay £25million for the defender, who represented Portugal at this summer's Under 21 European Championships.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are sweating on the ankle injury that Kieran Trippier sustained in the friendly win against Juventus.

The England full back will definitely miss Spurs' opening game of the season against Newcastle, meaning Mauricio Pochettino will start the new campaign with youngster Kyle Walker-Peters as his only recognised right back. So, the Lilywhites are also expected to remain in the mix for the Portuguese starlet.

Cancelo, a youth graduate from the famed academy of Benfica, has been impressive for Valencia over the years and could prove to be an invaluable addition to Chelsea with his excellent attacking nature from the right side of the defence.
