Chelsea have secured Dario Essugo on a long-term contract. The 20-year-old midfielder joins from Sporting CP for around 18.5 million, committing to an eight-year stay at Stamford Bridge until 2033. Essugo's journey began at Sporting's academy, where he made history as their youngest player in March 2021, debuting at just 16 years and six days old.

Essugo's record-breaking continued when he surpassed Luis Figo as Sporting's youngest starter later that year. He accumulated 12 first-team appearances before moving on loan to Las Palmas last season. During his time in LaLiga, he played 27 matches, scored once, and created 13 chances for his teammates.
