Enzo Maresca praised Chelsea's performance in their 4-1 semi-final first-leg win over Djurgarden, calling it perfect. However, he stressed the importance of maintaining focus to secure a spot in the Conference League final. Goals from Jadon Sancho, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson led Chelsea to victory at the 3Arena in Stockholm. Isak Alemayehu scored for Djurgarden with a header in the 68th minute.
Chelsea's dominance was evident as they ended with an expected goals (xG) total of 2.17, despite Djurgarden having more shots (16 to 12). Maresca noted that his team lost concentration towards the end and emphasized the need for focus in the second leg. Chelsea previously lost at home to Legia Warzsawa in the quarter-final second leg, highlighting the importance of staying sharp.

"It was the perfect night, an important semi-final and it is a good result. We need to be focused on the second leg," Maresca told TNT Sports. "The first 70 minutes was good but then in the last 20 minutes we dropped a little bit, but we cannot drop, we cannot relax, because otherwise, it is complicated."
Alongside their European campaign, Chelsea aims to secure a Champions League spot next season. Currently fifth in the league table, they face tough matches against Liverpool, Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Nottingham Forest. A top-five finish will ensure their place in Europe's premier competition next year.
Maresca made eight changes from the team that defeated Everton 1-0 last week. He highlighted squad rotation as crucial for ending the season strongly. "We try to manage players; we know that we need to protect players," Maresca explained. "We decided to start one way and to finish in a different way."
The manager acknowledged the tight schedule ahead with a game soon after returning to London at 5 am. "But now we have a game in two days, three days," he said. "We are going to arrive back in London at 5 am. We have a game on Sunday, so we need to recover our energy."
Chelsea's journey continues as they aim for success both domestically and in Europe. Maintaining focus and managing player fitness will be key factors as they navigate this challenging period.
