Whereas, Daniel Chima Chukwu and Irfan Yadwad led the attacking line. The game began energetically, with both goalkeepers making vital early saves. Bengaluru FC struck first in the 16th minute as Ryan Williams expertly volleyed home from close range.
Chennaiyin FC responded immediately when Lukas Brambilla's high press set up Irfan Yadwad for an easy tap-in. With momentum in their favor, the Marina Machans pushed Bengaluru's defense to its limits, but the visitors regained their lead in the 43rd minute.
The lead was to the credit of a perfectly placed Sunil Chhetri header. Undeterred, Chennaiyin equalized just before halftime. Lalrinliana Hnamte scored his first goal of the season, heading in Bikash Yumnam's long throw. The first half ended 2-2, showcasing both teams' determination.
