London, March 21: Denmark coach Age Hareide recently said that Tottenham Hotspur’s Danish attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen is better than the other current midfielders are playing for the Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.
In the ongoing season (2017/18), the 26-years old attacking midfielder has scored already 11 goals along with 10 more assists for Spurs.
Since joining with the Premier League team Spurs in early 2013/14 season, Eriksen has provided very consistency performances on the field. He won the Tottenham Hotspur Player of the year award twice (2013/14 and 2016/17).
Appearing in 75 matches for the national team, Eriksen has won four times Danish footballer of the year award (2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017).
Speaking about him, his national team’s coach Age Hareide told Ritzau, via Tipsbladet, "I think he is a type that can adapt to anything. Give him a ball, then the ball will speak for him wherever he is. Christian is a type that just gets better from dealing with better football players.”
Hareide also said that Eriksen is better than the other current midfielders who are playing for Real Madrid and Barcelona. He quoted about the former Ajax midfielder, "When looking at the players that play centrally for Real Madrid and Barcelona, none of them are better than Christian.”
Hareide also claimed that the former Spurs midfielder Luka Modric was not that good during his joining to Real Madrid. He said, "Luka Modric came from Tottenham to Real Madrid, and he was not as good as Christian."
