That will also end Churchill Brothers' title chances as they just open their points tally with the draw.

Chennaiyin go top of the table with the draw as they have four points in two games. However, with Mumbai City (3 points) facing NorthEast United in an hour and a half, Chennaiyin know they haven't done themselves any favour with the result. Churchill,on the other hand, open their account and have one point in one game. A win for Mumbai will also end their title chances.

Vanspaul's effort was close! Sails fraction over the top of the bar as the referee blows the final whistle. Chennaiyin and Churchill share spoils!
Churchill captain Gogou fouls Vanspaul at the edge of the box as Chennaiyin earn a late free kick in a dangerous area. Certainly the last action of the match.
Churchill Brothers' efforts to run down the clock as they make a late sub.
The match officials add five minutes of stoppage time. Chennaiyin show urgency in attack.
Chennaiyin make antoher change as winger Ninthoi Meetei comes in for midfielder Anirudh Thapa. Ninthoi takes the right wing as coach Brdaric puts two pacy wingers on the left for the final few minutes.
RED CARD! Richard Costa sees his second yellow for a rough tackle on Anirudh Thapa as the side will play the remaining minutes and injury time with 10 men.
Chennaiyin make another change as last-match hero Rahim Ali comes off for Senthamizhi Shanbagam with 10 minutes of regulation time left.
Martin Chaves makes another threatening run on the counter but has lacked the pace and the decision making for Churchill to really make that telling impact!
End-to-end stuff! Prasanth makes a run down the left flank and beats three defenders before firing a shot with his right foot but the effort was blocked by Akash Mukherjee. Some brilliant skills by Prasanth there, a talent to watch out for.
Churchill with a promising attack as Kingslee breaks free on the right flank but his back cross fails to find somebody to shoot on the go as Anil was too late in his arrival.
Prasanth has been making those overlapping runs with his first leg, allowing Chennaiyin to put pressure on Churchill again as they earn back-to-back corners.
Anirudh Thapa delivers an indirect set piece into the box from the left flank that beat everyone and curled inches away from the goal after Nora Fernandes made the mistake of coming off his line. Lucky there for the Churchill goalkeeper.
Two changes at the hour mark for Chennaiyin as Prasanth and Mohammad Rafique comes in for Jiteshwor Singh and Narayan Das
Jiteshwor with a curling cross into the box for an unmarked Rahim Ali, who couldn't meet his head with the ball as the chance goes begging. Churchill had a chance to attack on transition but Chennaiyin had enough body at the back to cut off the through ball that was meant for Kromah.
Bit cagey affair at the beginning of the second half with none of the teams finding space into box with some stray passing from the midfield.
The second half gets underway as Churchill see early possession.
The action is all set to begin as the players are out on the field, there are no changes during half time at either sides.
Just a reminder, if scores remain unchanged then Chennaiyin FC will take lone lead at the top with four points while Churchill will hang by a thread in the tournament.
Chennaiyin enjoyed 61 per cent possession and had 10 shots but only one of them was on target. Churchill, on the other hand, managed to shoot four times and only one of them was on tatger.
An end-to-end contest at the Payyanad Stadium so far 🤜🤛

Nothing comes off it as the referee blows half-time whistle! Chennaiyin had the best of chances while Churchill showed that Kromah's pace can be threatening on the counter. It's anybody's game in the second half.
Chennaiyin win late corner kick and should be last action of first half.
Chaves wins a free kick some 35 yards from the goal as the match official adds three minutes of injury time. The Uruguayan, however, was too optimistic with his effort to shoot from that far as the ball sails away for a goal kick.
SAVE! Nora Fernandes makes an acrobatic save for Churchill after Anirudh Thapa cross into the box was met by Akash Sangwan's goal-bound powerful header!
A big let off for Chennaiyin! Churchill captain Gogou with a dangerous cross into the box but an unmarked Kromah couldn't jump high enough to connect with the header.
It's quite hot down there as the referee calls for a water break. Chennaiyin coach Brdaric is seen with an ice pack on his pack. Nobody likes these afternoon kick-offs.
Kromah with a dangerous run through the left flank on a counter but he went too deep before the cross and it straight went to the goalkeeper.
WHAT A MISS! In fact there are two misses! Akash Sangwan delivered an inch-perfect corner from the right flank for Duker in the middle. The German couldn't connect the header as the ball went straight to Fallou at the far post unmarked, but he couldn't tap in the ball either. You can't miss too many of those chances because football punishes you.
Chennaiyin FC are dominating the possession at the moment while Anirudh Thapa, drifting to the left of the midfield, is looking to feed Sangwan with through balls on the left but Churchill defence has settled down well by now.
Akash Sangwan is fed with a through ball onto the left flank and his dangerous first-time cross was cleared by Churchill centre back.
Chennaiyin FC will be aiming for all three points as they take on Churchill Brothers in the first of the Group D matches of Super Cup at the Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri, Kerala on Saturday. (April 15).
Tied at the top of the group table with fellow Indian Super League side Mumbai City FC (3 points each), Chennaiyin FC are aware that a slip-up on the day will give their rivals, who are facing NorthEast United later in the evening, a chance to consolidate their position at the top.
At the moment Chennaiyin lead by a goal difference (+2) in comparison to Mumbai City's +1 but in case of a tie on completion of group stages, the head-to-head result will take prominence to decide winners. Chennaiyin's good goal difference is down to their 4-2 win over NorthEast United in the opening group game.
Rahim Ali and Aakash Sangwan were decisive in that game as the duo scored twice while assisting each other twice as well. Chennaiyin's defence was shaky in the game though as it let in two goals and could have conceded more if not for some big saves made by goalkeeper Samik Mitra. Their coach Thomas Brdaric stressed that their aim was always to get good results.
"Most important is the victory because to progress in this tournament, you need points and have to score," Brdaric said as per Indiansuperleague.com. "It was the first match and nobody knew where we stood but now, we are more experienced and I'm convinced that we can carry on with the same efforts like the first match."
Churchill Brothers, one of the top and most popular clubs in the country from the yesteryears will be playing to stay alive in the tournament as they lost to Mumbai City FC 2-1 in the opening game and need a win to revive their season. The Goan club, who finished sixth in the I-League season, are not being taken lightly by the southern side as they made things difficult for Mumbai in the last game until a penalty goal bailed the ISL side out of trouble.
"They (Churchill Brothers FC) have some good players. They have some abilities that we need to understand closely and not let them execute (their plans) by doing good work in defence. We have to be strict on that," Brdaric further said.
