Como president Mirwan Suwarso disclosed that the club has reached an agreement to sign Alvaro Morata. However, they are waiting on discussions between AC Milan and Galatasaray. Morata joined Milan in July 2024 on a four-year deal, with an option for an additional year. He was loaned to Galatasaray in February, with the loan lasting until January 2026.
The Turkish club has the option to purchase Morata at the end of his loan or extend it by six months until June 2026. Despite this, Morata is linked with a move to Como during this transfer window. The deal depends on negotiations between Milan and Galatasaray to terminate the loan early.

Galatasaray is expected to allow Morata's departure if they secure Victor Osimhen's signing. Meanwhile, Cesc Fabregas expressed interest in reuniting with Lionel Messi, his former Barcelona teammate. However, Suwarso dismissed this possibility, emphasizing that Morata is a more feasible target for Como.
Suwarso stated, "We try to give the coach the best possible team." He added that only Fabregas can comment on what might be missing from the squad. Investments are made for returns, and he believes Messi joining is unrealistic. "Morata? All that's missing is for it to be here," Suwarso said.
Morata has played 146 matches in Serie A for both Juventus and Milan, scoring 56 goals overall. Additionally, he has provided 28 assists during his time in Italy, although none were recorded while playing for Milan. His potential move to Como could bolster their attacking options significantly.
This transfer window has seen Como make other significant signings as well. They have permanently acquired Maximo Perrone from Manchester City and Nicolas Kuhn from Celtic. These additions aim to strengthen their squad following a 10th-place finish in the 2024-25 season.
Suwarso emphasized that Como has done their part by reaching agreements with both Milan and Morata himself. Now, it's up to Galatasaray and Milan to finalize discussions regarding the termination of Morata's loan deal.
As negotiations continue, Como remains hopeful about securing Morata's services soon. The club aims to enhance its performance by assembling a competitive team capable of achieving better results in upcoming seasons.
