Comparison: Erling Haaland's 2022-23 goal scoring season with Messi and Ronaldo's best ever seasons

How is Haaland's current goal-scoring campaign compared to Messi & Ronaldo’s best seasons? Check out the details here on mykhel.com

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has taken the Premier League and Champions League by storm and there appears to be none that can stop him at the moment.

With six hattricks and 42 goals already in this season, the 22-year-old is on course to cement his status as one of the deadliest strikers in world football. Haaland is already topping both the Champions League and Premier League and there are several records in line that he can break.

How is Haaland's current goal-scoring campaign compared to Messi & Ronaldo’s best seasons?

Such a massive goal-scoring feat unsurprisingly now has started bringing comparisons with two of the greatest goal-scorers of all time- Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. So far his scoring record is indicating that he could live up to the absurdly high individual standards set by the two living legends. However, in terms of both the superstar's best-ever seasons, Haaland is still miles off.

Lionel Messi's best ever season goal-scoring season came at Barcelona in 2011-12. Under the tutelage of current Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, the Argentine maestro recorded an unbelievable 50 La Liga goals and 73 in all competitions. Even by Haaland's freak goal-scoring record so far, he is very unlikely to match it this term.

On the other hand, Ronaldo's delivered his best-ever scoring tally in 2014-15 for Real Madrid. The Portuguese superstar recorded a career-best tally of 61 goals in all competitions under Carlo Ancelotti.

In both cases, however, Real Madrid and Barcelona failed to win any major trophies in those respective years. Barcelona only won the Spanish Super Cup, European Super Cup, and Copa del Rey in 2011-12 while Los Blancos claimed just the European Super Cup and Club World Cup in 2014-15.

Manchester City still have a good number of games left to play and City also have a good chance of winning the Premier League, Champions League as well as FA Cup.

Should the Norway international maintain the same form, there is a good touch of him matching or breaking any of the records and claiming these coveted trophies could immediately embark his name in City's folklore.
