Antonio Conte apologised to Napoli's fans after a 3-0 defeat at Verona in Serie A, taking responsibility for the opening loss. The match saw Napoli, the 2023 Scudetto champions, struggle as Verona scored three times in the second half. Dailon Livramento netted first after 50 minutes, followed by a late double from substitute Daniel Mosquera.
Conte admitted that serious work is needed to elevate Napoli to his desired standard. "It was a performance that shows we need to work hard in every aspect," he told Sky Sports Italia. "I came to Napoli with lots of enthusiasm and great desire. If I can help Napoli, I will."

The coach also highlighted the team's poor start to the second half. "We immediately let Verona have a shot at the start of the second half, and in the second instance we went behind," Conte said. "Then we melted like snow in the sun."
Conte is eager to bring in new players before the transfer window closes. "On the market, one, two, three, four could arrive, as many as the club want to sign," he stated. However, he acknowledged that these issues are not easy to resolve.
This frustration may be linked to Victor Osimhen's potential departure from Naples. When asked about Osimhen's future, Conte responded, "This is a question you should ask the club and not me. I see that Osimhen has trained separately."
Conte expressed regret towards Napoli's passionate supporters. "What I feel like saying is that we should apologise to the Neapolitan supporters, who follow us with such passion," he said. "I am the coach and it is right that I take full responsibility."
The 55-year-old former Chelsea manager is determined to address these challenges head-on. He emphasised that beyond individual players, a change in attitude is necessary for success.
The defeat marks a challenging start for Conte's return to Napoli. Despite this setback, he remains committed to improving the team and addressing its shortcomings.
