Antonio Conte has emphasised the importance of hard work as Napoli prepares for their match against Cagliari on Sunday. Reflecting on his first 100 days in charge, Conte acknowledged the challenges faced, including a tough 3-0 loss to Verona in their Serie A opener. However, subsequent victories over Bologna and Parma have boosted the team's morale.
Conte's tenure began with a heavy defeat to Verona, but wins against Bologna (3-0) and Parma (2-1) have shown promise. These victories put Napoli in a position to achieve three consecutive league wins under one coach for the first time since February 2023, when Luciano Spalletti led them to eight straight wins and eventually the Scudetto.

The period also saw significant player movements, with Victor Osimhen leaving for Galatasaray on loan and Romelu Lukaku joining as his replacement. Despite these changes, Conte believes they have laid a solid foundation for future success.
At Friday's pre-match press conference, Conte stated: "We worked not only on the pitch but also a lot off it. We had to work and we worked hard. I am satisfied; these 100 days have given us a direction. I know what awaits me, the expectations on me, but my only weapon is work."
Having won league titles at Juventus, Inter Milan, and Chelsea, Conte is aware of the high expectations surrounding his arrival at Napoli. He remarked: "I carry a lot of pressure with me. Having won in the past, people add one and one and get two, and expect this regardless." He added that he embraces this responsibility calmly while seeking consistent performances from his squad.
Conte praised Lukaku's impact after he scored a late goal against Parma just two days post-arrival. The international break allowed Lukaku to improve physically and tactically. "There was great commitment; he also came in during his free time," Conte said about Lukaku. The striker's progress will determine if he starts in upcoming matches.
The team looks forward to continuing their positive momentum as they face Cagliari, aiming for another victory under Conte’s leadership.
