Antonio Conte Acknowledges Juventus' Draw Against Napoli While Seeking Attacking Improvements

Antonio Conte expressed moderate satisfaction with Juventus' goalless draw against Napoli, emphasising the need to capitalise on scoring chances while praising the defence. He reflected on his past at Allianz Stadium and the challenges faced in this match.

Antonio Conte expressed a mix of satisfaction and the need for improvement following Napoli's goalless draw against Juventus. Despite coming into the match with three consecutive Serie A wins, Napoli missed several scoring opportunities. Juventus nearly secured victory when Scott McTominay's long-range effort was saved by Michele Di Gregorio, and Romelu Lukaku couldn't capitalise on the rebound.

Conte acknowledged the difficulty of securing a point away at Juventus, a team that finished 18 points ahead of Napoli last season. He told DAZN, "I realise the difficulty of getting a draw away to Juventus, a team that was 18 points away from Napoli last season." While he was moderately pleased with the defensive performance, he noted that his team could have been more effective in attack.

Conte Reflects on Juventus-Napoli Draw

Romelu Lukaku had a challenging game against Juventus. He failed to register a single shot and only managed 18 touches before being substituted late in the match. Conte commented on Lukaku's performance, stating, "I think we did it well with the midfielders. Romelu still needs to get into the kind of shape that I require."

Conte emphasised the need for better ball management and consistency, saying, "I had asked for consistency and it was a good performance in terms of focus, but we can and must do better when we have the ball."

Reflecting on his previous stint at Juventus from 2011 to 2014, Conte acknowledged the challenge of playing at Allianz Stadium. He remarked on how he had turned it into a stronghold during his tenure there. "I know it is not easy to play here, which is why I made this stadium a fortress during my time," he concluded.

Napoli will face Palermo in the second round of Coppa Italia on Thursday before hosting Monza in their next Serie A fixture.

Conte remains focused on improving his team's attacking prowess while maintaining their defensive strengths as they prepare for upcoming challenges.
