Chile vs Argentina Preview
Going into Copa America, it seemed as though the Chileans regained their goal-scoring form. However, that attacking quality was missing in their first match. They can extend their unbeaten streak to three matches in all competitions with a win against Argentina. This will be their longest streak (five games) since November 2022 to June 2023.
It was not easy but Argentina overcame a few setbacks and started the competition on a positive note with a win against Canada. The reigning world champions have won six straight matches since a 2-0 loss to Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier last November, their only defeat since losing their first game in the 2022 finals to Saudi Arabia (2-1).
If Lionel Scaloni's men win against Chile, they will advance to the knockout stage of this tournament for the 14th time in a row, not counting the 2001 Copa America. If they win this match and Peru and Canada tie, La Seleccion will win their Copa America group on consecutive occasions for the first time since 2015 and 2016.
