Coventry City and Luton Town will lock horns for a spot in next season's Premier League when the two sides clash in the Championship Playoff Final at the Wembley in London on Saturday (May 27).

Both clubs have had their struggles over the last decade to reach this stage with Coventry being homeless at various points in 2010s, while Luton were in non-league till 2014.

Coventry, one of the Premier League's founder members in 1992, will end a 22-year exile from the top flight if they overcome Luton in the play-off final. Luton, meanwhile, have never been part of the Premier League, having been relegated from the old first division in 1991/92 season.

The two sides earned their spots in the final after overcoming two former Premier League teams in the two-legged Championship playoff semifinals. Coventry beat Middlesborough, while Luton knockout out Sunderland.

A Gustavo Hamer away goal was enough for fifth-placed Coventry City to see off fourth-placed Middlesborough 1-0 over two legs in one of the Championship playoff last four clash.

Third-placed Luton, on the other hand, came back from 1-2 deficit to beat sixth-placed Sunderland 3-2 over two legs on the back of two goals from Gabriel Osho and Tom Lockyer in the other semifinal. Elijah Adebayo had got on the scoresheet in the first leg for the Hatters.
