Cristiano Ronaldo's 100 Saudi Pro League Appearances In Numbers

Cristiano Ronaldo marked 100 Saudi Pro League matches for Al-Nassr with two goals against Al-Najma, reinforcing a leading role that continues to shape the competition. The 5-2 victory at Al-Awwal Park followed Ronaldo’s return from a hamstring injury and underlined ongoing influence, both in front of goal and in the wider contest for domestic dominance.

Ronaldo’s switch to Al-Nassr in late 2022 proved a major moment for Saudi football, triggering a run of high-profile arrivals from Europe. Neymar, Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante all joined Saudi Pro League clubs after that move, while the Public Investment Fund still targets new stars, with Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah the most discussed name.

Ronaldo's 100 Saudi Pro League Appearances

Not every imported star has stayed long or performed as hoped, yet Ronaldo’s spell looks durable. Some recruits left after brief periods, but Ronaldo remains central for Al-Nassr. The Public Investment Fund controls Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad, and its strategy continues to influence transfer activity and the competitive balance within the Saudi Pro League.

Across his 100 league appearances, Ronaldo has produced goal involvement numbers unmatched since arriving. Ronaldo has 97 Saudi Pro League goals and 18 assists, totalling 115 direct contributions. That tally is well above Salem Al Dawsari and Abderrazzaq Hamed-Allah, who each record 65 goal involvements during the same timeframe.

Ronaldo’s scoring rate also stands clear of rivals. Since January 2023, Hamed-Allah’s 56 goals place second, at least 41 behind Ronaldo. The Al-Nassr forward’s finishing beats the underlying data as well. Ronaldo’s 97 goals come from 89.8 expected goals, while 70 non-penalty strikes exceed a non-penalty expected goals figure of 66.2.

Shot volume highlights Ronaldo’s central attacking role for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. Ronaldo has attempted 537 shots since debuting, almost double the next player, Mourad Batna, who has 277 efforts. Ronaldo’s 223 shots on target also lead the league comfortably, with Benzema second on 128 attempts on target.

Ronaldo continues to score in varied ways for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. Of those 97 goals, 69 come with the right foot, 17 with the left and 10 are headers. Fourteen goals are struck from outside the penalty area, showing range in technique and positioning despite advancing age and heavy match workloads.

Cristiano Ronaldo Saudi Pro League appearances and records chase

In appearance terms, Ronaldo sits near the top since arriving in the Saudi Pro League. Only Firas Al-Buraikan, Aschraf El Mahdioui, Mansour Hamzi and Fabio Martins have played more league games in that span. El Mahdioui is the only player with more minutes, registering 9,058 compared to Ronaldo’s 8,707 minutes on the pitch.

Ronaldo is also closing on a significant Saudi Pro League landmark. Hamed-Allah holds the mark as the quickest player to 100 league goals, reaching that total in 101 matches. That record came with a hat-trick for Al-Okhdood on April 11. Ronaldo could match that pace with a sustained scoring run over upcoming fixtures.

Cristiano Ronaldo Saudi Pro League title push with Al-Nassr

Despite individual output, a Saudi Pro League title has not yet arrived for Ronaldo at Al-Nassr. The 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup is the only trophy so far. Earlier this year, Ronaldo missed two matches following a disagreement with Al-Nassr’s hierarchy about transfer decisions, reportedly unhappy that Benzema joined direct title rivals Al-Hilal.

The current Saudi Pro League campaign offers Ronaldo and Al-Nassr a strong platform. Al-Nassr hold a six-point advantage over Al-Hilal with seven matches left. Ronaldo’s last league championship came with Juventus in Serie A in 2019-20, and ending that drought now would align with preparation for a likely final World Cup appearance with Portugal this summer.
