Cristiano Ronaldo just returned to hot form as the striker scored twice in the Arab Club Champions Cup Final to fire his club Al Nassr to the title as they face experienced Asian heavyweights Al-Hilal in the marquee clash.
While this was the first Arab Club Champions Cup win in the rich history of Al Nassr, it was their first with global star Cristiano Ronaldo. Their focus now turns to winning 10th top-tier League title as they begin their campaign against Al Ettifaq, who are looking to get back to their glory days from the 1980s as they hire English football star Steven Gerard as their manager.
The club also hired England international Jordan Henderson from EPL giants Liverpool in a marquee move while former Lyon striker Moussa Dembele and have also roped in Scottish defender Jack Hendry for further foreign quality in their line-up.
There's no dearth of talent in the Al Nassr side as well with Senegalese Sadio Mane joining forces from Bayern Munich while Seko Fofana, Marcelo Brozovic and Alex Telles have been other notable additions.
However, 38-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo remains the centre of attention since his mega-money move to the Riyadh-based club as the Portuguese striker has scored 14 goals in 16 games since joining them after the FIFA World Cup last year in Qatar.
In the ongoing competitive season, Al Nassr are yet to lose a match as they won four of their six games while rest of the two games ended in a draw. Al Ettifaq, on the other hand, will be playing their first competitive match of the season as they didn't feature in Arab Club Championship.
