As his contract with Paris Saint-Germain nears a conclusion, defender Sergio Ramos may finally join former Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.
The 36-year-old Spanish defender joined the French giants two years back on a free deal. After an initial struggle with fitness, Ramos now seems to have regained his form and has been the backbone of PSG defense. However, it is understood that despite PSG's desire to keep the veteran at the club they may be forced to lose him in next summer.
According to speculations, PSG may be subject to further punishment from Uefa for the financial fair play violations. They already received a €10 million charge for their 2020–21 season accounting, and they face an additional €45 million in suspended fines for other violations. Yet, it is acknowledged that more sanctions remain a possibility. The team is reportedly aiming to reduce expenses as a result. Ramos who is one of the top earners on the side could face the heat and PSG may look to let him leave on a free deal.
The decision however could see Ramos leaving Europe for the first time in his career. A cash-riched move to MLS has been touted. Yet a reunion in Saudi Arabia with Cristiano Ronaldo is also a big chance. Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Al-Nassr already has shifted enough attention to the middle-east league. According to rumors, they are ready to persist with the same plan and Ramos could be their next galactico target.
