Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand recently appeared on the popular YouTube show BeerBiceps, hosted by Ranveer Allahbadia. During the lively conversation, Ranveer revealed that Indian cricketers are avid football fans, with Virat Kohli being a massive Cristiano Ronaldo admirer.
Many Indian players, including at least five or six, are dedicated Manchester United supporters. Ferdinand, a close friend of Ronaldo, reacted with enthusiasm, declaring, "I need to bring Cristiano to India, isn't it? Has he been to India before? Is that my mission?"

Ranveer confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has never visited India and explained the magnitude of such an event. "The whole country would stop if Cristiano came to India," Ranveer said, emphasising the superstar's colossal fanbase in the country. Ferdinand appeared intrigued and motivated, hinting at making it a personal goal to bring Ronaldo to India.
Ferdinand also shared fond memories of his own trip to India, recalling his visit to Delhi a few years ago. "I f**kin' loved it there. The energy, the culture, the food, the music, the colours, it was amazing," he said. He admitted he was unsure of the reception he would receive but was blown away by the warm welcome and vibrant atmosphere.
The podcast also featured light-hearted moments, including Ferdinand hilariously mispronouncing Virat Kohli's name as "Cola." Ranveer corrected him, prompting Ferdinand to laugh and acknowledge he knows only a few cricketers, notably Sachin Tendulkar, whom he described as "more charismatic for what he has achieved."
Ferdinand further revealed that Manchester United players often played cricket during training, although he personally disliked fielding. When asked about the best cricketer among his teammates, he named Phil Neville, who once had the potential to represent England but chose football over cricket in his teens.
With Ferdinand expressing genuine interest in facilitating Cristiano Ronaldo's visit to India, fans are already buzzing with excitement. Such a moment could potentially unite football enthusiasts across the nation and create a historic cultural exchange.
