Cristiano Ronaldo has drawn himself towards another controversy following his actions after Al-Nassr's recent victory in the Saudi Pro League on Sunday (February 25).
The incident occurred after Al-Nassr clinched a 3-2 win over Al-Shabab, with Ronaldo playing a pivotal role by scoring the opening goal through a 21st-minute penalty. The match was tightly contested, requiring a late goal from Talisca, who netted twice, to secure the win for Al-Nassr with just four minutes to spare.

However, it was Ronaldo's post-match conduct that caught the public's eye and sparked widespread criticism. Captured by social media videos, Ronaldo was seen making a questionable gesture, seemingly directed at Al-Shabab supporters.
Amidst the background noise of chants with Lionel Messi's name, Ronaldo cupped his ear and made a pumping action with his hand in front of his pelvic area. The incident, although not televised, has led some Saudi pundits to call for disciplinary action against the football star.
Following the uproar, reports from the Saudi newspaper Asharq al-Awsat indicated that the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) had initiated an investigation into Ronaldo's actions.
Prominent figures in the Saudi sports community, including Waleed Al Farraj, a reputable writer and television host, have commented on the situation. Al Farraj stressed the importance of maintaining decorum, emphasizing that fame does not exempt individuals from respecting boundaries.
"The disciplinary committee is facing the biggest test. We will wait and see," Waleed Al Farraj said on X. "Everything has its limits, no matter how famous you are. This is how the major leagues are."
Al-Nassr has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident. This is not the first time Ronaldo has faced criticism for his gestures during matches in Saudi Arabia. Notably, in April last year, he was observed making a similar gesture during a league defeat against Al-Hilal.
Despite the controversies, Ronaldo's on-field performance remains impressive. Since joining Al-Nassr as a free agent in late 2022, he has topped the league's scoring charts with 22 goals in 20 appearances. Al-Nassr currently stands second in the league table, trailing four points behind Al-Hilal, who holds a game in hand.
