Cristiano Ronaldo scored a spectacular long-range free kick to bring Al-Nassr level against Abha in the Saudi Pro League (SPL) as they recorded a 2-1 comeback win. With his latest free-kick goal, the Portuguese superstar has now scored 59 free-kick goals in his iconic career.
The Riyadh-based side fell behind during their home clash against Abha in the 26th minute of the match as Abdulfattah Adam Mohammed bagged the opening goal of the match.

Rudi Garcia's side kept knocking for an equalizer and came close on a number of occasions until Ronaldo restored parity with his stunning free-kick in the 78th minute.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner claimed a central free kick over 30 yards out in the 77th minute of the game. Abha goalkeeper David Epassy looked absolutely helpless as the ball went through the wall and beat him.
Abha's Zakaria Al-Sudani was sent off in the 80th minute and Al-Nassr won a penalty from the resulting free kick. While everyone expected Cristiano Ronaldo to step up to take the spot kick, Anderson Talisca took the ball and converted the penalty.

Ronaldo has now scored nine goals for Al-Nassr in 10 matches while also bagging two assists. While Ronaldo has now scored 59 free kicks in his career, the Portugal international has not found much luck from free kicks of late.
In fact, this was his first free-kick goal in almost three years. His last successful free-kick strike came in July 2020 when he scored a free-kick against Juventus’ cross-city rivals Torino in a 4-1 victory.
Out of Ronaldo's 59 free kicks, he has scored 49 at club level and 10 for Portugal. The Portuguese international has scored 34 free kicks in league games and 12 in the Champions League. In comparison to Ronaldo, his arch rival Lionel Messi has netted 61 free kick goals till date.
