Cristiano Ronaldo-led Al Nassr signs Gabriel as Brazilian leaves London giants

By MyKhel Staff

Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr has made a massive coup just ahead of the closure of the transfer window.

The Saudi giants, who have a huge title bid in sight this season, have roped in Gabriel from the English Premier League.

Al Nassr have made some decent signings in the summer window. RB Leipzig defender Mohamed Simakan has joined, while they also roped in Wesley from Corinthians. But in the final hours of the window, the Saudi club has managed to get a major coup in Gabriel.

Brazilian teenager Angelo Gabriel has joined Al Nassr in a deal worth $25 million. This move comes a year after his transfer to Chelsea from Santos for $17 million. During his time with Chelsea, Gabriel never played for the English club as he was loaned to Strasbourg, a team owned by Chelsea's American investors.

Gabriel, 19, was part of Chelsea's squad during their pre-season tour in the United States. However, he has now moved permanently to Al Nassr, where he will play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

"We wish Angelo the very best as he begins the next chapter in his career and thank him for his efforts during his time with Chelsea," stated the Premier League club.

Gabriel made history by becoming the youngest player ever in Brazil's national championship when he debuted for Santos at just 15 years and 308 days old. Despite such a glorious start in Brazil, the teenager has found this difficult in Europe. He played for Strasbourg 25 times last season, but didn't score a solitary goal.

The move to Al Nassr marks a significant step for the winger, offering him new opportunities and challenges. Playing alongside seasoned players like Cristiano Ronaldo could provide invaluable experience for the young Brazilian as his London chapter ends prematurely.

Al Nassr have had a modest start to their season this term. After losing to Al Hilal in the Super Cup final, the Knights of Najd started their league campaign with a 1-1 home draw against Al Raed. But they managed a 4-1 win in the last match away to Al Fayha, much to the respite of the supporters.
