Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? Who is poised to have this Real Madrid star as teammate next Season

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi both are playing a central role for their current clubs, in two different parts of the world.

Lionel Messi currently plays for MLS outfit Inter Miami, whereas Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has been rocking things with Saudi club Al Nassr.

Both clubs splashed a gargantuan amount of money to land two of modern football's biggest stars, and have since significantly bolstered their squad this season. Inter Miami and Al Nassr also got instant results as Miami won the Leagues Cup, while Al Nassr lifted the Arab Club Champions Cup.

But ahead of next season, the objective will be to lift the domestic league. Inter Miami finished second bottom in the Eastern Conference and Al Nassr, on the other hand, are currently 2nd in the Saudi league table.

And as the two clubs prepare to further strengthen their squad, current Real Madrid star Luka Modric's name is coming to the fray.

The Croatian has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid ahead of next season and Al Nassr and Inter Miami are tipped to be to be one of his destinations. Modric has been linked with a move away from the Spanish Giants for a long time and the 38-year-old will be tempted to go to one of the two clubs, which will also be lucrative in the twilight of his career.

Al Nassr brings the added incentive of playing with Cristiano Ronaldo and some of his old Real Madrid teammates, while the connection of David Beckham and Lionel Messi will also be another hugely tempting deal for the Croatian midfielder to join Inter Miami.

There had been also rumours of Modric hanging his boots, but it doesn't look likely at the moment. The prized midfielder is still playing at the highest level and believes he can continue playing at the same level for at least a couple of years. Despite the increasing chances of a Real Madrid exit, a move to somewhere like Al Nassr, or Inter Miami, provides him the perfect benchmark, as it will significantly be a better financial deal compared to the other European clubs.

It is unclear where he will end up with, but a move to Al Nassr is a bit more likely than Modric crossing the Atlantic to play for Inter Miami.
