Cristiano Ronaldo will be felicitated by UEFA for his goal-scoring record, the apex body of European football announced on Tuesday (August 27).
Cristiano Ronaldo is the top scorer in UEFA Champions League history and will receive a special award from UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin. This accolade honours Ronaldo's outstanding contributions to the world's premier club competition.

Ronaldo's exceptional performance in the Champions League spans over 18 years. His achievements will be celebrated during the inaugural 2024/25 UEFA Champions League 36-team league phase draw ceremony. This event is scheduled for Thursday, 29 August, at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
The former forward for Sporting Clube de Portugal, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus has scored an impressive 140 goals in 183 Champions League matches, the most by any player in history.
UEFA President Aleksandar Ceferin released a statement on UEFA's official website and confirmed Ronaldo's felicitation.
"Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the brightest stars in the UEFA Champions League constellation. His extraordinary goal-scoring achievements in the competition seem destined to stand the test of time, posing a remarkable challenge for future generations to surpass. His sustained excellence at the highest level is a testament to his relentless pursuit of both team and individual honours," the statement wrote.
