Cristiano Ronaldo Turns 39: When the Portugal legend fed two of his Man United teammates, gave them lifts

Cristiano Ronaldo has always been a fiery character on the pitch. The Portugal star is known for his goal-scoring prowess and amazing achievements, but he has often been associated with controversies.

There have been issues for Ronaldo on the pitch, off the pitch and we have seen episodes of that in the past. But beyond that, Ronaldo's gracious attitude with his teammates and people can't be denied.

The Portugal star has been crucial in many social activities and has been involved in several philanthropic campaigns. But recently, one of his former Manchester United teammates opened up about a completely different side of the global icon.

Former Manchester United midfielder Anderson opened up on Cristiano Ronaldo's help when he joined the club in 2007. Anderson, who hails from Brazil, joined the Red Devils in the same year as Nani, and the pair immediately found themselves under the umbrella of Ronaldo.

"As soon as I arrived, I went to Cristiano's house," Anderson told to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte. "I thank him very much. He adopted me. We lived at Ronaldo's house for almost a year. We left because we wanted to leave.

"For him we could have stayed there. We didn't spend anything. The guy took us to training, fed us, had a cook for us. There was a swimming pool inside and outside the house, a jacuzzi, and a tennis court," he added.

He also revealed that Nani sometimes used to sleep at the Man United training ground in Carrington as Ronaldo reached the ground three hours before the scheduled training time.

"Training was at 9:30 am, but sometimes we had to go at 6:30 am, because Ronaldo was at the club and we went with him," Anderson added. "Nani and I slept there on the stretchers and waited because his work had to start," he further added.

Ronaldo is currently going strong at 39 at Saudi club Al Nassr. He has already found the net 30 times in 31 matches this season and is going strong to score a few more this season.
