The recent upsurge of Saudi Arabian clubs have rocked European Football. The swift dynamic of players moving to Saudi Arabia with humongous money offers is something to keep an eye on in the coming years.

Top players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Diego Costa, N'Golo Kante and many others have switched to the middle east while many are poised to join them.

But amid this, Al-Nassr, the club who signed Cristiano Ronaldo in January this year are facing an unprecedented issue by the apex body of football, FIFA.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr have been banned from registering new players due to "outstanding debts", FIFA has said.

Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Ronaldo moved to the Middle East in January. Apart from Al Nassr, several other Saudi clubs have also made some top-notch coups this season as the crown aims to make Saudi Pro League one of the best in the world.

However, FIFA has now imposed a ban on the club's transfer activity.

A spokesperson for the global governing body said, "The club Al Nassr is currently prevented from registering new players due to outstanding debts.

"The relevant bans will be lifted immediately upon the settlement of the debts being confirmed by the creditors concerned."

It has reportedly happened as Al Nassr failed to pay Leicester City the add-ons from a deal for Ahmed Musa, who the Saudi club signed back in 2018.

Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), which has an estimated net worth of over 600 billion US dollars (almost £460bn) bought a majority stake in Al Nassr as well as three other Saudi clubs in June.

Marcelo Brozovic was signed by them in the summer as the Croatian was prised away from Italian giants Inter Milan.

It is to be seen how the Saudi club reacts to their imposed sanction by FIFA as they look to win the league. Last season, Al Nassr finished 2nd behind Al Ittihad in the league.
