Ismaila Sarr celebrated his 27th birthday in style by scoring twice, helping Crystal Palace secure a 4-1 win over Aston Villa. This victory marked their second consecutive Premier League triumph. Morgan Rogers briefly equalised for Villa with an improvised finish early in the second half. However, Mateta restored Palace's lead with a powerful strike just seven minutes later. Mateta's goal was his eighth of the season, tying him with Mohamed Salah for the most goals in 2025.

Eberechi Eze played a crucial role by assisting Mateta's goal, marking his fifth assist for him this season. This equals the record for most assists by a Palace player to a specific teammate in one campaign, previously set by Michael Olise for Eze in 2022-23.

Nketiah added to Palace's tally late on with his first league goal for the club, sealing an impressive victory. Oliver Glasner’s side remains mid-table but missed an opportunity to close the gap on teams above them.
