Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, has indicated that young forward Dane Scarlett will play a role for the club until the season's end. Scarlett, aged 20, was on loan at Oxford United but returned in January. He made an impact by scoring in the Europa League against Elfsborg. Due to FIFA rules, he can now only play for Tottenham or Oxford this season.
Scarlett's return to Tottenham has been well-received by his teammates. Dejan Kulusevski expressed his enthusiasm about Scarlett's comeback and praised his performance. "I love Dane Scarlett a lot," said Kulusevski. "I think he is a great player and I believe he will help us these months." The team is dealing with several injuries, making Scarlett's contribution even more valuable.

Postecoglou explained the decision to keep Scarlett at Tottenham instead of sending him on another loan. "We had a look at his situation," Postecoglou stated. "He has had a couple of disappointing loans. I think sending him out again without any sort of real prospect of him developing, we just felt to keep him training with us and give him an opportunity to play and see how it goes."
Meanwhile, Brentford defender Nathan Collins showed support for Bryan Mbeumo after a missed penalty followed by a successful retake against Crystal Palace. "Never doubt Bryan," Collins said. "We are all so confident in him, and he's confident in himself." Mbeumo emphasised his focus on mental strength as key to his success.
Mbeumo also highlighted his strong partnership with Yoane Wissa, both on and off the field. "If one of us scores, then we are really happy for the other," he mentioned. His goal against Crystal Palace maintained Brentford's perfect penalty record this season.
Bryan Mbeumo has been instrumental for Brentford this season with involvement in 17 Premier League goals (14 goals, 3 assists). Only four players have contributed more. Ivan Toney holds the club record with 20 goals and four assists in the 2022-23 season.
Tottenham's Dejan Kulusevski leads in creating open play chances in the Premier League this season with 51 opportunities crafted. His average of 2.5 chances per game is surpassed only by Christian Eriksen and Aaron Lennon from previous seasons.
The upcoming match between Tottenham and Brentford is predicted to end in a draw based on recent performances. Tottenham have lost six of their last seven league games, while Brentford have struggled at home despite being top scorers there this season.
The Opta win probability suggests Brentford have a 44.2% chance of winning, while Tottenham stand at 31.8%. The likelihood of a draw is estimated at 24.1%. All previous Premier League meetings between these teams at Brentford's stadium have ended without a winner.
