Danilo, the captain of Juventus, has parted ways with the Serie A team after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract. The 33-year-old Brazilian defender played 213 matches for Juventus over five and a half years, securing four trophies, including the 2019-20 league title. Danilo joined from Manchester City in 2019 and made 12 appearances this season, starting in six of those games.
His final league appearance was a 2-2 draw against Venezia on December 14. Head coach Thiago Motta confirmed that Danilo could leave during the January transfer window. Juventus praised Danilo's professionalism and dedication, noting his scoring debut against Napoli on August 31, 2019, and his last match against Venezia on December 14, 2024. "Obrigado por tudo, Danilo," Juventus tweeted.

Before the start of the 2023-24 season, Danilo was appointed as Juventus' captain, succeeding Leonardo Bonucci. This made him the first non-Italian captain at the club in sixty years. During his tenure at Juventus, he also won two Coppa Italia titles and the Supercoppa Italiana.
Danilo has represented Brazil internationally with 65 caps and has played for Porto and Real Madrid in Europe. He is reportedly nearing a move to Flamengo in Brazil on a free transfer. "A champion to whom we can only wish the best: thanks for everything and good luck for the future!" stated Juventus.
