David Beckham has expressed disapproval over the conduct of certain Manchester United players during their recent tour in south-east Asia. Following a disappointing Premier League season, where they finished 15th and lost to Tottenham in the Europa League final, United embarked on this tour to engage with fans and raise funds. However, Beckham criticised Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo for their inappropriate behaviour.
Garnacho was involved in an incident where he pushed a fan who was recording him. Meanwhile, Diallo used offensive language towards another fan who allegedly insulted his mother. Beckham, speaking to CBS Sports, stated, "I don't like seeing what's happening at the club. It's true that it's the pitch that matters, but I see a lot of things that are not acceptable to me as a fan and a lover of Manchester United."

The team faced criticism after losing 1-0 to a south-east Asian All-Stars team in Malaysia. Manager Ruben Amorim acknowledged the importance of hearing the boos from fans. Chido Obi later helped regain some pride by scoring twice off the bench in a 3-1 victory in Hong Kong, despite initially trailing.
Beckham emphasised the importance of representing Manchester United with dignity. He noted that players should understand what it means to wear the club's badge and respect fans who pay to watch them play or seek autographs and photos. "We understood what it meant to play for Manchester United," he said.
The tour aimed to strengthen connections with supporters in Asia through friendly matches in Malaysia and Hong Kong. However, incidents involving players overshadowed these efforts. Beckham stressed that respecting fans is crucial, especially when they travel long distances and spend money to support the team.
The tour's purpose was not only financial but also about building relationships with global fans. Despite some positive moments on the field, such as Obi's performance, player conduct off the field drew negative attention. The need for professionalism and respect remains paramount for maintaining Manchester United's reputation worldwide.
