London, Dec 7: David De Gea might have had a terrific time in the last couple of seasons at Manchester United and last weekend with the Red Jersey where he made a Premier league record-breaking 14 saves in a match to win the game 3-1 for Manchester United against Arsenal at Emirates.
However, it seems some of the top football goalkeeping fraternities are still not impressed with the La Roja keeper.
France football magazine along with a panel some popular goalkeeping names, Santiago Canizares, Lionel Letizi, Sepp Maier, Mark Schwarzer and Francesco Toldo has recently conducted a poll of best goalkeepers among the World but surprisingly the Manchester United keeper could only manage a seventh spot in the list.
Bayern Munich keeper Manuel Neuer was ranked as the best keeper ahead of him and Italy veteran Buffon as the runners-up whereas fellow Premier League keepers Thibaut Courtois of Chelsea and Hugo Lloris of Tottenham also achieved a better spot ahead of him.
The Magazine followed the scoring system identical to Ballon d'Or award and Germany international Neuer topped the poll collecting the maximum of 30 points while
Juventus legend Gianluigi Buffon ranked second with 13 points, followed by Courtois with nine, both Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid and Lloris on seven points and Real Madrid stopper Keylor Navas five.
It is little astonishing to see one of the best keepers of the current time to be behind the likes Navas and Lloris in the list however it can only be foreseen that his biggest doubters slowly turn into believers if he continues to performances like that at Arsenal in future.
