David de Gea, a former Manchester United goalkeeper, has come back to the city amid continuous rumours over his future with the team. The 32-year-old left Old Trafford at the end of June after serving there for 12 years without being able to come to terms on a new contract.
De Gea had come close to agreeing to a new contract with better terms before the end of the previous campaign, but Manchester United withdrew their offer. They later came back with a proposal with an even lower price, which was not signed.

Since then, the Spaniard has been a free agent, and his successor, Andre Onana, has had a disastrous start to his professional career in Manchester. The Cameroonian international made mistakes in United's last two games, losing to Galatasaray in the Champions League and giving up a soft goal to Brentford on Saturday until Scott McTominay came up with a late win.
Onana was under pressure, so de Gea fuelled rumours by posting on Instagram on Tuesday that he was back in the city.

De Gea, though, is just in town for a few days, according to the reports, to make preparations for the Hale home where he formerly resided as United's starting goalkeeper.
According to reports from the summer, de Gea turned down a transfer to Inter Milan while also being linked to Bayern Munich. Also, it was stated last month that the former Spanish international was thinking about retiring.
The shot blocker was also present for the first leg of Manchester United Women's 1-1 tie with PSG in the second round of the Champions League.
"At the moment, there are nerves that are in there, because of the mistakes," Ferdinand said.
He further added, "A lot of people are asking if he can recover. I was there when De Gea came. He was obviously younger but he didn't start well, you know. I think in his first 10 games or so, the numbers are similar to Onana."
He also said "If you were to speak to Onana himself, I think he would say, this is not the start I wanted, this is no way near the level I am used to performing at and this is not the standard required at Man Utd so I need to buck up my ideas."
