Mikel Arteta credits David Raya's crucial save for shifting the momentum in Arsenal's 2-0 win over Aston Villa. The Gunners secured their victory with second-half goals from Leandro Trossard and Thomas Partey at Villa Park. However, the game might have turned out differently if not for Raya's key intervention eight minutes into the second half.
Amadou Onana's deflected shot hit the crossbar and fell to Ollie Watkins, who seemed poised to score. Yet, Raya made an instinctive save to deny Watkins, who had missed another significant chance earlier. "We had to change momentum," Arteta told Sky Sports. "They had the big chance and David made an unbelievable save, and it was the magic moment of the game."

Arteta praised his team's defensive efforts, noting they conceded very little against a tough opponent. "It's a big credit to the team as it is a difficult place to come, but when we needed him he was there, and he made a terrific save," he added.
Arteta also lauded Leandro Trossard, who scored just 110 seconds after coming off the bench. The Belgian netted from the edge of the area following good work by Bukayo Saka, placing a low right-footed shot beyond Emiliano Martinez. This marked Trossard's 14th goal for Arsenal and his sixth as a substitute.
Trossard had the most shots (three) of any Arsenal player during his 25-minute appearance. "The competition is big; we have great players in each position," Arteta said. "We have a huge season in front of us, a long one, and you need players to impact. He did that last year when he started and when he was a sub."
Arteta acknowledged that Trossard's performance has given him selection headaches for upcoming matches. "He has given us a headache for next weekend," Arteta admitted.
The Gunners' winning start to the Premier League season continues with this victory at Villa Park. The team's ability to maintain composure under pressure and capitalize on key moments has been crucial in their early success.
Arteta's strategic decisions and timely substitutions have played a significant role in Arsenal's performances so far this season. As they look ahead to future fixtures, maintaining this momentum will be vital for their campaign.
The match highlighted both individual brilliance and collective effort from Arsenal players, showcasing their depth and resilience as they aim for continued success in the league.
