Declan Rice to Arsenal: When will the Gunners announce Rice arrival?

Arsenal are on the verge of completing the signing of Declan Rice, according to reports.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice for a long time this summer. The move was almost concluded but the final paperwork was yet to be signed by the clubs.

West Ham reportedly got frustrated by the lack of movement from Arsenal but it is understood that the final few steps of the move is now completed as the Gunners sent the documents to the Hammers on Friday.

According to Sky Sports, the London club have signed the papers which will see their captain Rice move across the city to the Red half of North London.

Arsenal to announce Declan Rice arrival on Saturday

The transfer was agreed a week ago and it is understood that Arsenal will announce the signing on Saturday before they fly out for a pre-season tour to the USA.

The deal is broken down into an initial payment of £100m with £5m in add-ons, which is just short of Enzo Fernandez's record move to Chelsea this January when he joined the Blues from Benfica for £106.8 million.

Rice's move will also be Arsenal's record signing as the Gunners will eclipse their previous record transfer of Nicolas Pepe back in 2019, when the winger joined the London giants from Lille for £72 million.

Mikel Arteta eyed the England midfielder as his primary target in the summer and it looks imminent at the moment. Arsenal also announced the signing of Jurrien Timber from Ajax on Friday. The Dutch centre back has joined the club on a five-year deal.
