Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh & UP register win in National football
Srinagar, Sep 6 (UNI) Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajisthan, Mahrashtra and Kerala registered victories in the 53rd national school football under-19 championship played here today.
In the first match, Punjab outclassed Kandriya Vidyaliaya school by six goals. Balbir Singh scored, first hatrick of the tournament, while Bajinder Singh netted two goals and Sukman Singh one.
Delhi trounced Vishwa Baharti School by a huge margin of 11 goals. Deepak scored five goals, Manjeet singh four and Neetan scored two goals for Delhi.
In other matches of the day, Utter Pradesh beat Andra Pradesh by 2-0, Mahrashtra defeated Jarkand by a solitary goal, Rajasthan beat Himachal Pradesh 3-0, Kerala beat Bihar by 2-0, Chandigarh had hardfought 1-0 win over Goa and Uttrakand defeated Navodya Vidyalaya School 5-0.
Haryna and Madhya Pradesh match ended in a draw as both the teams failed to score despite earning a number of scoring chances.
