Delhi thrash Gujarat 7-1 in U-19 football festival

Fatorda (Goa), Feb 29 (UNI) Vice-captain Micheal Chongtu fired in five goals as Delhi maintained its winning spree, thrashing Gujarat 7-1 in the second round of the All India Football Federation (U-14) Football Festival here today.

Delhi dominated the proceedings from the start, scoring five goals in the first half, including three by Chongtu. The other goals were scored by Anirudh and Srikant.

Chongtu struck twice in the second half to complete the tally.

Delhi earned four green cards for best goal, highest goal scoring and best behaviour in official and team category.

Meanwhile in another match, J&K beat Himachal 2-0 and will lock horns with Delhi tomorrow.
