Dembele 100% Fit For Champions League Final As PSG Prepare For Budapest Showdown

Ousmane Dembele insists fitness will not be an issue for Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final against Arsenal on 30 May in Budapest. Despite a recent calf concern, the winger expects to feature from the start as PSG chase back-to-back European titles after last season’s triumph.

The concern arose in PSG’s final Ligue 1 match of the campaign against Paris FC, when Ousmane Dembele left the pitch before 30 minutes. PSG staff have treated a calf problem since then, but the France international has continued preparations with the final against Arsenal firmly in mind.

"I'm doing very well. I had a slight scare against Paris FC, but I'm fine, and I'll be ready for the final," Dembele told French broadcaster RMC Sport. "Will I be 100% for the final? Yes, yes, I think so, yes, I'll be ready. I have no doubt about it. I hope to be on the pitch on May 30. I've had so many minor scares or major injuries in my career, whether here at PSG or even before, especially with the big matches coming up, especially this final, I preferred to stop and, above all, not take any risks."

Ousmane Dembele’s importance grows after a decisive semi-final against Bayern Munich, where PSG advanced 6-5 on aggregate. Dembele scored three times across the two legs and now has goals in three straight Champions League appearances, a personal streak last matched in January and February 2025.

Across those last three Champions League matches, Ousmane Dembele has six direct goal contributions, with five goals and one assist. Over the full season, after the Club World Cup, Dembele has 19 goals in all competitions, a joint-high figure for PSG, and also leads the squad with 11 assists, underlining a central role ahead of the Budapest final.
